Club Hotel Sunbel Kemer, Turkey

Everything was awesome! The hotel was fantastic, and I highly recommend it! The rooms were great, and the food was almost like what you’d expect from a five-star resort. The alcohol selection was a bit limited — only vodka, rakia, gin, and beer at the bar. They made cocktails by mixing a bit of everything with Sprite. There was also red and white wine. Over seven days, there were three guest performances (Turkish dances, belly dancing and a Brazilian show) plus a foam party on the beach with a fire show. Overall, we loved everything. 

The beach is pebbly, like all beaches in the Kemer region, but they have a jetty for easy access to the sea, which is super convenient. The jetty is metal with handrails and a wooden walkway - really handy, so you don’t need special shoes to get in and out of the water. There’s also a pier nearby (at the Onkel hotel), but a security guard sometimes turns away non-guests, though occasionally he’s not there, and you can go take photos or jump off it. The hotel was fully booked, but there were enough sunbeds. There were a lot of Turks, as well as Germans and Brits, who mostly hung out by the pool, so there were plenty of sunbeds at the beach. There were also many Poles, Moldovans, and, of course, Russians. A few Ukrainians were there too, but not many. For high season, I think we got really lucky with this hotel. 

The food was a highlight — lots of grilled dishes, including trout one time and quail (or maybe small chickens, I’m not sure, but it was delicious). As usual, there was plenty of chicken, turkey, fried herring, and veggies (eggplant, peppers...). Between breakfast and lunch, they made burgers or baked flatbreads with cheese (like khachapuri). There were always fruits — oranges, watermelon, melon, grapefruit, apples. Loads of olives, various salads, and, of course, desserts (baklava, cakes, Turkish delight). I recommend this hotel to everyone. We’d love to come back next year if we get the chance.
